Re: Hi, I'm not too good with computers...

Putting applications in your Applications folder is how you install them. If you just double click on them from the disk image you are just running them, they aren't installed. you copy them from the disk image to your Applications folder then eject the disk image and run them from there. That shoul...

Re: A notification that refuses to close...

One thing you could see, is getting rid of growl ichat by tee, as right on his Web site he recommends using chax because it does growl notifications. Having both could cause the issue.

Re: Perian 1.1.1 imminent? Nightlies?

there is one issue in trac that is preventing 1.1.1 from being released. only the developers know if it is worth holding up 1.1.1

Re: Notifications Not Forwarding

I too have had troubles setting this up. The only time I got notifications to forward were for instance in a couple menubar apps I have, that run on both of the macs, so it seems like forwarding a notifcation like from the google notifier from one machine to another was redundant. But I could never ...

Re: Unfortunately, I don't speak Growl

you can change whatever application is notifying with sound as a visual notification. each app has a per-notification control to change how it notifies you, either via sound, email, sms, text, etc.

Re: HardwareGrowler stopped when I ...

I honestly don't know the situation around this, but I always wondered why this couldn't just be a preference option in HG's preferences? It's been requested before, and has been acknowledged for later releases, but I still don't know why it hasn't just been done.

Re: Growl message not staying on screen

um, you should on, the main page of the growl preference, set the notifications to sticky after a certain amount of time, like if you went away from your computer. that should solve your problem.

growl framework version out of date

On the growl google groups page there was a program that showed all of the growl applications registered with growl, and their version of the growl framework. It says that cyberduck is using .8 and the current version is 1.1.2 Just a friendly reminder for the next update. 1.1.3 is coming out soon too.

Re: growl program request

Omnigrowl does something like this, with its intermitten random quotes/phrases that are by Brian Eno, you could contact that developer, or get the source code from them and try yourself.

Re: Confused... Works when not installed, not when it is...

It might not be showing it now because you might not be using the latest version of iscrobbler 2.1.2 if you are, you might have changed a preference dealing with how long the mouse hovers over the icon to activate the notification that you thought was growl. And, it never happened before because thi...

Re: Applications remove

Because a notification of registration alerts the user that an application registered, and you can remove it if you don't want that one. If you're using growl you typically like having notifications, why make the one of the biggest parts of growl, registration, invisible when the whole point of grow...

Re: Applications remove

this is why i think the old Growl notifications that notified you when an application registers itself should come back. I don't think it's just for logging, or for developers, it's useful to anyone who uses growl, especially if you only like choice applications using growl and they don't activate a...

growlsafari

I figured out that growlsafari does not work properly, but i recently reinstalled it from the 1.1.2 disk image. i found from that the feed notifier works, but i don't like it. but the thing is, it occasionally comes on by itself, after i have disabled it in growlsafari's preferences. just something ...

turn off itunes notifications in omnigrowl, even the developer said he put that in there in case you didnt have another app that already handled that for you. in your case, iscrobbler does this. so there is no need for this feature as you can fix it yourself.

the answer is to convert all of your itunes music to id3 version 2.3 then quicksilver will show the artwork. or 2.4, either one.
