Re: API question

If you have multiple `apikey` recipients, that is just 1 call.

Can you share some example URLs which are failing? Feel free to email me (prowl-support@googlegroups.com) if they are sensitive.

Re: [Feature Request] Export Notification log

This is not possible right now. Can I ask what you're trying to accomplish by logging the notifications?

Re: URL Parameter

I believe you'll need to url encode the attributes in your URL string which are causing the problem, e.g. this URL works: http://maps.google.de/?q=Turmstra%C3%9Fe%201%2C%20K%C3%B6ln I am weary about 'fixing' this problem because people typically pipe URLs directly into Prowl, and many are already en...

Is Prowl allowed sounds, alerts, or badge inside Settings > Notifications > Prowl?

Re: Compatible with IOS 7?

That's strange, and it's definitely a bug I've seen before.

My best guess is that the system is doing it. I have torn things inside and out trying to find a double-send from my server, but it really truly just looks like the system behaving weird.

Re: Compatible with IOS 7?

I agree! I've been working on improving the backend—the new version is nearly complete actually; we're working on migrating existing data and verifying the API and such all still work—and following that I plan on doing an iOS 7-only release that will include all the awesome bells and whistles I thin...

Re: Compatible with IOS 7?

Prowl works great on iOS 7. It doesn't use any of the new features (yet) that Apple introduced, but it works just as great on iOS 7 as it did on iOS 6.

Re: iPhone 3GS: No push messages, no sound

I'm the only one on the support list, so if I see multiple messages from the same person I'll generally respond in one spot. Sorry but jailbreaking and unlocking breaks push notifications in my experience. I'm not really sure what will fix it; you could perhaps check some jailbreak information websi...

Re: iPhone 3GS: No push messages, no sound

What version of iOS are you running, and what did you use to jailbreak it? Are you unlocked as well? Did you use any kind of "push fix" plugin/addon?

Thanks.

Sadly, Apple only allows push notifications to play sounds that exist in the shipped application. Their apps have special abilities which are not available for App Store apps.

Re: Frequent Prowl crashes on iPhone 5

Hmm, darn. I think the tolerance in the system for background tasks ending themselves is different these days than when I wrote that code. Fortunately, it's only happening in the background. Unfortunately, it makes Prowl quit and dump these logs annoyingly. I'll mark it as something to fix for the n...

Yep. You can use [[UIApplication sharedApplication] canOpenURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"prowl:"]]

Re: IOS DND and Prowl

Sadly not. DND mutes all sounds and the system is responsible for playing the sounds for push notifications.

Re: Vanishing History

That's strange. How old are the old notifications? Prowl will delete notifications after 10 days, but won't auto-delete any time before that.

This is a requirement of Prowl that I'm looking to get rid of soon, likely with a future version.

Open the Growl preferences and find Prowl inside. Click the "generate" button and it will prompt you for a username/password.

If you're using Growl 2.0, you've already got Prowl installed, it's under the action inside Growl.

Re: Have Prowl Make Sounds While In Silent Mode

The "workaround" there can play audio while Prowl is active, but it isn't going to allow the push notifications to play audio through the silent switcher. Prowl isn't actually the application playing the sound, the system is.

Re: Prowlmail: nobody option issue

Hmm. Interesting, I think I know why this is happening. When there's no body, we use the subject as the body, so anything you have matching the event is going to end up not matching since it's not there.

This will likely require a client-side change to get it working. :/
