Re: Adium permanent download / upload to msn

Derik, I hate to say it, but Skype is an excellent IM, especially with its ability to queue messages in a Pending state for people you send IMs while they're offline. You can write Joe Schmo a message while he's offline and three hours later when you see him come online, your Skype will send the mes...

Re: WLM down on Adium? and several other third-party messeng

MSN might be a dead issue. I'm seeing "connection refused" now on that account.

Re: Adium stuck at sending cookies 100%

Old thread, but the issue has cropped up again over the last few days. Apparently, the keys used during authentication have been EOLed by MSN and Adium/Pidgin, etc. are now unable to connect. A solution to the problem was found here: http://messengergeek.wordpress.com/2014/11/12/most-third-party-mes...

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?

Since 2007 for me, ever since my move from Slackware to OS X. I might have a look at compiling Pidgin; it was the app I used way back in the Slackware days.

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?

Oddly enough, I see that iChat under OS X 10.7.5 now seems to be able to connect again. So, it seems that I either suck it up and use iChat, the official (and seemingly deprecated) Yahoo! client or shell out 60 clams for a lifetime of Trillian. Given how little chat I do outside of Skype these days,...

You're not looking very close then. comment:82 Changed 2 weeks ago by Robby Keywords yahoo removed Milestone set to Adium 1.5.11 Severity changed from normal to regression Regression: a return to a former or less developed state. Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?

While it's nice that a workaround has been created, it seems the Adium developers simply intend to remove Yahoo support in coming releases: https://trac.adium.im/ticket/16678#comment:82 Maybe I'm reading that wrong. I didn't see anything that even hinted at the removal of Yahoo support. I only saw ...

Re: Yahoo "unidentified error" or no connection?

 Things have gone from bad to worse here. Not only does Adium 1.5.10 not connect to Yahoo! on my OS X 10.7.5 system, but now both ICQ and AIM logons fail. The Yahoo! problem seems to also affect iChat on 10.7.5. It connects, but then immediately disconnects. :\ Edited to add: No, the ICQ a...

Re: CPU spikes signing in to Yahoo

I just upgraded to 1.5.10 and Yahoo still seems to be borked for me. When I enable the account, I see: Error: Error reading from login.yahoo.com: Undefined error: 0 It may just be a transient issue with Yahoo itself, but at this moment, the 1.5.10 client just cycles through reconnect attempts every ...

Re: CPU spikes signing in to Yahoo

I seem to be experiencing this problem with both Yahoo and, as of about an hour ago, ICQ. Looking forward to 1.5.10 going gold.

The problem has cleared up on my end, too, so I suspect that it ended up being a transient issue on the ICQ side of things.

Re: Unable to add buddy 1

I'm seeing this error as well: Unable to add the buddy 1 for an unknown reason. Adium 1.5.3 on OS X 10.6.8. I've traced it to only happening when I log into ICQ. AIM, MSN and Yahoo are all fine.

I'm glad that got you running on all cylinders again. I got a bit freaked out when I realized that deleting the preferences pane was a preferential pain.

Re: Growl Not Appearing in Preference Pane

Okay, a lot of fritzing around to get it flying right and this is how it happened. Note that you may NOT require all steps, but I did this: * Make sure you use the uninstall script from the installer package for any versions you have available * Go into ~/Library/PreferencePanes and delete Growl.pre...

Re: Growl Not Appearing in Preference Pane

I've got exactly the same problem. It seems to me that the issue is that something somewhere remembers that you've deleted the preference pane from System Preferences without actually uninstalling the software. Find that something somewhere and I bet it's not too difficult to fix.
