Re: Growl 1.2 Released Sept 28th! Or not?

Thanks for this. I used the mv method (using the terminal command I posted above) but it seems as if '/usr/local/share/man/man1' doesn't exist. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.1/Growl 1.2 and am the only user of my computer.

Re: Growl 1.2 Released Sept 28th! Or not?

If this works via terminal, can I do this:

Code: Select all

$ sudo mv /usr/local/man/man1 /usr/local/share/man/man1

Or is there a better method of moving the manual?

Re: Growl 1.2 Released Sept 28th! Or not?

Thanks for responding. Is there a safe way of doing this via CLI or otherwise? Not sure whether just moving this via finder is going to break anything (just in case the original path for the manual is set somewhere else). Will the script be updated in the future to correct the location at which the ...

Re: Growl 1.2 Released Sept 28th! Or not?

1.2 update went without a hitch, however installing growlnotify never seems to install the manual. Calling growlnotify from terminal works, so I'm unsure why the installer does not install the manual (by the way, I installed growlnotify by ./install.sh).

Thank you :)

Re: Third-party API

Wow, that limit is quite generous. Wondered whether it might be worthwhile creating a thead containing sample code? It looks as if we have a Perl and PHP solution in this thread.

Re: push notifications not working

Test messages from the site and via Growl have stopped working for me too (they had previously). Some of these do turn up on the Prowl app, others are never pushed to prowl (despite the notification appearing on my Mac).

Re: Growl Registration Error

Have tried to reinstall growlnotify. I cd'd into the installation directory and executed './install.sh': Creating /usr/local/bin Creating /usr/local/man/man1 Installation complete. Please add /usr/local/bin to your PATH if you have not already. Consult your shell's documentation if you do not know h...

Re: Growl Registration Error

Also, Would anyone know how I could 'listen' to or check the actual packet generated by the script?

Edit: As an aside, when I updated growlnotify, it appeared to have worked but entering man1 growlnotify says there is no manual installed. Perhaps this may be related to my problem?

Growl Registration Error

Hi guys, I've just updated to the latest version of Growl (1.1.5), and have also installed the updated growlnotify plugin. I'm trying to get Network notifications to work, and despite having activated the relevant setting in the preference pane, and port forwarding UDP Port 9887 to my Mac, I'm getti...
