Re: Time Machine Growler Using 95%+ CPU

I am am not sure why, but it looks like Time Machine Growler is running just fine for me now. I am not sure what is different now though. It looks like it still spikes to about 10%, which is still undesired, but at least my fans do not go crazy because of it. http://i35.tinypic.com/o5wa9w.png Thank ...

Re: Time Machine Growler Using 95%+ CPU

And from that brief window into your system log, it looks like Firefox is responsible for most of them. Might I suggest OmniWeb ? ☺ (No Growl support, though, sadly.) Alternatively, Safari, with GrowlSafari for Growl support. Whichever browser you try, I suggest you go without Firefox for a day and...

Re: Time Machine Growler Using 95%+ CPU

Console is not reporting anything at all while I have it open. How many messages is it showing, and over what span of time? Also, make sure you're looking at (and counting) All Messages, not just Console Messages. I'm not sure whether that option is visible by default; click on Show Log List if it ...

Re: Time Machine Growler Using 95%+ CPU

The only reason I've ever seen for TimeMachineGrowler to use so much CPU time is that you have a lot of messages in your system log. Growl before 1.2 was one application that logged a lot of messages; as I mentioned in that thread, VMWare is or was another. So, open the Console, see what's spamming...

Time Machine Growler Using 95%+ CPU

Time Machine Growler: http://boredzo.org/time-machine-growler/ Keeps using 95%+ of my CPU (Pictured here, 99.7%): http://i37.tinypic.com/2nlefrs.png I saw this post: http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20437&p=120286#p120286 Which says: The remedy is to upgrade to Growl 1.2b3 (t...

Re: Can't Open Input Server - GrowlSafari

Then why did you install GrowlSafari? I don't know just in case I ever do I guess O:) I have no idea why they can't open it, but the solution is simply to remove GrowlSafari, especially since you don't use it. I do not not see an uninstaller in the download. Is uninstalling it as simple as putting ...

GrowlSafari Installer Contradiction

I noticed this while I was installing the Growl v1.2b2 along with GrowlSafari: http://i28.tinypic.com/6i8ape.png I didn't think much of it until I saw this on the beta download page: http://i32.tinypic.com/2629zl4.png I was not sure if I should really report this as a bug or if it is this way just b...

Re: Growl on Snow Leopard

Yeah, I just installed 1.2b2, and still GrowlMail will not work. It does show up on the Preferences panel (which previously didn't), however you still get the error message when you start Mail, telling you GrowlMail has been deactivated. Any clues? It is working just fine on my machine. Are you sur...

Re: Facebook statuses no longer showing

So sometime in the last week or so I seem to have lost the facebook status info for my contacts. It used to show the status for everyone just under their name. I cannot seem to find a switch to turn this on or off. Can someone direct me if there is one or has a bug occurred? Doc I would be interest...

However, I was asked to install Rosetta (which I deliberately omitted during the installation of SL). Will growl uninstall continue to require Rosetta in ve...

since this is the first time I've used Mail.app (using it for Exchange @ work), what does one gain by using GrowlMail over this simple script? You just hove to go to alot more work to change the settings if you use this script. But with GrowlMail, you get a nice tab in Mail preference pane to chang...
