Please note that the following builds are NOT official, they may be dangerous.
You should also do a backup copy of ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 before using these releases in order to restore it if something goes wrong.
Please enable the debug logs saving and report MSN issues here or in http://code.google.com/p/msn-pecan/issues/list .

Hi,

I can't see MSN avatars, I only see the MSN logo near my contacts.

In the debug log it says:

Hi,

This debug log is useless, can you provide a new one?

Can you try removing ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 (after a backup copy) and re-adding your MSN account?

Hi,

I'm sorry, it was my mistake, now the avatars are updated. The "problem" is only on the blocked people now.

I tested also:

Support for handwritten messages (read-only)
Support for voice clips (receive-only)
Support for Plus! sounds (receive-only)

and they work very well.

This is not a bug, you cannot receive messages from blocked people, so you cannot receive avatars too.

I tested also:

1) If one installs this build, will access to GTalk and other networks still operate as normal, or are they dependent on Libpurple? If they are dependent on Libpurple, does msn-pecan overwrite that, or co-exist with it.

2) Where does one download this build? Is it the same address as in the first post on the thread, and is there a compiled, ready-to run version, or does one have to compile it oneself? (I'm not up to that).

Custom emoticons sending is a UI missing feature, msn-pecan support that feature, but it is only a MSN protocol, also the UI (Adium) should support that feature...

You'll continue to use all protocols, only the MSN one is replaced by msn-pecan.

This doesn't add A/V, right? And.. can I ask for a mirror @ box.net or something like that? Megaupload is blocked in my country.

Sikaffy, the Adium developers consider MSN-Pecan an alternative. The possibility of changing back to it can't be ruled out.
