Yahoo Problems Connecting

Last day or so i have been getting messages cannot log into my yahoo accounts i exceeded the pw attempts. Today i cannot connect to any of my YIM accounts

anyone know of this?

Me too! Tested on both 1.3.4 and 1.4b6; still having problem connecting to Yahoo accounts. Apparently on beta6, Adium managed to connect to Yahoo server but Adium doesn't registers it as connected; Adium still shows Yahoo account as "Connecting...", users on my contact list sees me as being online, they can IM me and I received their IMs but I can't reply back to them as Adium regards me as still not connected to Yahoo.

My Yahoo stopped connecting a few days ago as well. Sometimes it does connect, and I can see my contacts online, but when I try to send a message it says that I am offline...

UPDATE: I rolled back to 1.3.4 from 1.4b6 and Yahoo works fine.

I'm having the same problem. I had it last night, but somehow it was resolved. I was able to log on this morning, but now it's being annoying again. The alert comes up that all my contacts have signed on and can IM me, but I can't respond and it says I'm disconnected or connecting. I downloaded the real YIM client to use for now...

Glad to see I'm not the only one with the issue I guess.

I'm also getting this issue. It worked fine for a little while but now I have issues. It won't show as connected, but people will be able to message me and I won't be able to reply.

well i made use out of my favourite beta feature, irc, and got on #adium and caught word that the even more bleeding edge nightly build solves the problem:

i'm running 1.4hgr2503 and it's happy as a clam.

be warned, though, these are not betas. as i was told, your computer may explode.

after bouncing back and forth, I found that 1.3.4 works OK on Yahoo, 1.4b6 not. Sitting with 1.3.4 till the problem gets resolved.

I had been using the 1.4 betas, and this problem just cropped up in the last day. Strange.

Yeah, I took the advice of some here and rolled back to 1.3.4 and Yahoo came back just fine. I suggest using the older version for now if you don't mind it. I wasn't gettin' much out of the newer one anyway so I can live without it for a while.

I am running 1.3.4 on OS 10.4.11. I logged in about two hours ago and it connected. Then I logged out and used the lastest Yahoo messenger so I could video chat. Now Adium can not connect.

same here...cannot log in..status just shows as cancel: yahoo meaning it's trying to connect but cannot. am running 10.4.11 on my mac so cannot use the latest build that requires 10.5. just started last day or two. have to use yahoo itself instead.

I have computers which cannot run higher than 10.4.11

Okay so I'm having the same issue as some of you when I rolled back. It worked when I rolled back, but now I try to log in and it just sits there connecting. I keep looking at this ticket: http://trac.adium.im/ticket/12404 but their solutions are roll back or sign in elsewhere and then sign into Adium to try to get Adium to override the other chat client, but I can't get that one to work.

Whatever the problem is, hopefully it can be fixed soon.

EDIT: I decided to go on the real YIM client and then decided to give Adium another shot. Adium connected immediately and YIM signed me out. It appears that logging in elsewhere and then on Adium works, but as anyone can tell that's rather annoying.

Could you please clarify what you mean by Yahoo site? What is the http address?

Which "Yahoo site"? I cannot find any webpage that has the behavior you described.

Suprisingly, it does works for me on 1.3.4 (for now!). Had to login to my Yahoo! Mail a couple of times before being presented with the security questions page, updated everything and I can connect via Adium as per normal.

UPDATE: Looks like it's a pure coincidence. I tried to log back in after quitting Adium and it still stuck at Connecting..
