How to follow a ticket without commenting on it

Postby bertocci » Wed Apr 02, 2014 10:36 pm

If I want to follow a ticket (get emails when it's updated), I see no way to do that without commenting on it. Also, it would be nice to be able to stop receiving updates if I later choose to stop following the ticket. I found https://trac.adium.im/wiki/TracTickets and https://trac.adium.im/wiki/TracNotification, but they are more focused on the administration side. It looks like the cc field is what I want, but that's greyed out even if I log in. It feels like I'm overlooking something simple, but I haven't found anything after much searching.

That’s a very good question and I’d welcome the solution. Yes, currently you can only subscribe by commenting and a small comment saying "cc" is fine for the time being.

Pidgin Trac has a "cc" button (see https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/16172 at the very bottom), I think it’s provided by a plugin which isn’t set up in Adium Trac, probably the "CC me" plugin mentioned here: https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/LocalTracChanges. I'll see if I can get it set up by someone in the near future.

Yeah, the cc button from Pidgin is what I'm looking for. The UI is odd because it hides the cc list when you're logged in. You have to scroll to the bottom of the ticket, and it's unintuitive to use the "Cc me to this ticket:" radio buttons to confirm that you're cc'd. That said, I won't complain about something free, and it's better than not having the plugin.

Adding a comment works fine for now. Thanks for the help.

Every ticket has its own RSS feed. That's what I use.
