Help with CSS

Postby TubaMuffins » Mon Dec 06, 2004 3:39 am

I figured since people use CSS to create message views, I may be able to get some help with CSS. If admins think this isn't appropriate, then feel free to lock this. Anyway, I've been working on a site and I wanteed to have a tabbed menu atop the page. I got code from this site under the example page. My menu links are maroon, but the links in my main page (I'm using a template, so this would be the editable region) are also maroon when I want them to be regular blue underlined links. If you can help me solve this, thank you. I've tried defining the text color in the link tab, that didn't work. Again thanks.

Have you tried doing a regular font color tag and then using regular underline tags? No idea if that'd work or not, just a quick off the top of my head answer.

You'll probably want to use classes for what you want to do. Instead of

Code: Select all

a:link { color, etc }

you would have to put

Code: Select all

a.tabs:link { color, etc }
a.main:link { color, etc }

Then define the 'class attribute in the html element.

Code: Select all

<a class="main" ...>

Here's a link that'll describe classes and what they do a little better and the syntax for it: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_syntax.asp

Hope that helps :D
