Hi
I find Vienna consistently fails to quit, and while I'm happy to always keep it open, it is a pain when I want to shut down my mac as I have to force quit it I believe every time. I am using Vienna 3.1.16 :891d05ea:. on a Mac Pro running 10.11.6. Any ideas?
Cheers

Re: Fails to quit
In Preferences, what is your setting for “Move articles to Trash” ? This may take some time when you have a big database.

Re: Fails to quit
Just before you replied I came to the conclusion that it must be because of the volume of unread and undeleted posts, so I've been trying to reduce these, and also reducing some subscriptions I rarely read. It may all slowly be helping to speed it up but not sure if the failing to quit thing is yet solved - will test further.
I've reduced the time in preferences to one week, I think from two - or maybe a month: can't remember.
But is it the case that if I don't mark posts as 'read' it will never automatically move them to the trash anyway?
And do I ever have to 'empty' Vienna's trash or is this an automatic process?
Is the 'reindex database' likely to speed things up?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Fails to quit
If you move manually an article in the Trash, it is automatically be marked as read.
What takes time is Trash emptying.
Yes, "reindex database" might improve things. But it will take time too.
