Feature suggestion - set preferred app per notification type

Postby timmfin » Wed Jul 08, 2009 12:07 pm

I've just started using prowl, but I'm excited now I have push email and twitter updates without having to waste txt messages. One suggestion I thought of was allowing you to choose what application you want to go to on a per message basis. With this, the view button on the modal push dialog could take you to the mail app for mail notifications, a twitter app for twitter notifications, etc. (I hope the push dialog allows you to open arbitrary applications, maybe via custom url schemes?)

Anyway, thanks for the app. I look forward to experimenting with it more (and the public API) in the future.

I'm not sure this particular idea is possible, but relaunching another application from within Prowl.app might be.

Another thought. How about custom sounds per notification type?

That's definitely a possibility. A sound per priority is also in the works.

I'd like to see a way to have some notifications make sounds and some be silent.
