Just wanted to give a heads up that I've got two Python Jabber bots implemented that push out Prowl notifications. They're fairly specific in what they do, but should provide a good code base to anyone wanting a go at Jabber bots.

Hope this helps someone.
Jabber bots supporting Prowl
Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl
Awesome! But it looks like the emailnotifiy.py doesn't work with google apps on domains, it just returns this:
EmailNotifyJabberBot: unable to connect to server.
EmailNotifyJabberBot: could not connect to server - aborting.

Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl
in case anybody else uses google apps on domains, I have added support for google apps on domains to emailnotify.py. You can grab it here: http://github.com/jgallen23/prowl-jabbe ... ree/master
Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl
Can a bot be created that logs into a specific users Jabber/XMPP account with low priority and pushes missed messages?
i.e. bot logs in as user@example.com which recieves a message (romeomessage) from romeo@montague.net, the bot pushes the prowl code with application=xmpp event=romeo@montague.net description=romeosmessage ?

Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl
Yep, that'd be a pretty easy modification to the code.
Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl
I was going over the code, and I must admit my python coding skills are pretty weak anyone mind helping creating a prowl push inbound message bot?
Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl
you may install xmpp-client called mcabber and running in comandline,
and give it a eventscript, that pushes Messages if recived.
I've written down how to do that, but only in german... but it shouldn't be that hard
( if you understand german here is the link http://www.ohnekontur.de/index.php/2009 ... mit-prowl/)
