First I added a gvmobile:// scheme, then realized there was no gvmobile:// available to me in the Prowl redirection list.

So, I looked through the list of available ones to find one I doubted I'd be using in the time between now and when Sean releases a new version, decided on Twinkle (I'm Echofon people), and added twinkle to the list of URL schemes in my Info.plist. So now, instead of selecting "Google Voice (website)," I select "Twinkle," and my GV SMS prowls launch GV Mobile.

Any chance you could ask Sean what his URL scheme is GOING to be, so that you can add that, and I can stop using twinkle://? =)

(p.s. if anyone wants a copy of my Info.plist, let me know in PM, including what URL scheme you want it to use. Happy to help.)

Register for something general, like ssh: or something. I don't want to add something like this, since it's made up and would be confusing.

I'm going to stick with Twinkle for the time being, since it's more likely I'd use SSH than Twinkle, and it saves me from having to re-modify the plist and re-scp it to my iPhone. In the meantime, I pinged Sean on twitter to see what his intended URL scheme was.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the Twittelator Pro API page (http://www.stone.com/Twittelator/Twittelator_API.html), Twittelator Pro supports opening directly to mentions ("twit:///mentions") as well as just opening Twittelator Pro ("twit://"). Both of these options are vastly preferable to opening in compose mode, where you then have to press "cancel" followed by "don't save" to get to your timeline. Would be great if the redirect could be updated, maybe even with both options available so one can choose?

Thank you for adding AppGmail (AppGmail:).

Excuse me, please add AppGmail2-4 too.

AppGmail2:
AppGmail3:
AppGmail4:

These next version are coming soon, now in review.

By the way, could you tell me a URL scheme for Prowl.

AppBunch's apps URL scheme is below.
[Product Name]:,[OpenURL at Start],[OpneURL at End]

For instance,
if a redirection is "AppGmail:,,Prowl:",
When AppGmail ended, Prowl opens.

I'am very happy, if Prowl's redirection settings are freely editting.

Best regards.

I was a little disappointed to see the redirection support in the current version of Prowl when I bought it today. In particular, I was hoping I could immediately setup redirection of notifs. to my iPhone app. So I'd like to make a proposal to the redir. support in the Prowl iphone app.

My app defines it's own external URL scheme which supports four or five different actions (importing a dataset to the app, opening a URL, copying data to the pasteboard, adding an item to a dataset). So why not allow people to enter an url-scheme manually for redirection. in my case, this is: x-acmetech-lists://
Then when you match the prefix of an incoming notification to one of the user-entered schemes, then Prowl does the following:

Code: Select all

UIApplication *app = [UIApplication sharedApplicationi];
if( [app canOpenURL:receivedNotificationURL] )
    [app openURL: receivedNotificationURL];
else
     ;// warn user that there's a misconfiguration and the redir failed....

I recognize that it's perhaps nicer for users to just click an app name, and that can continue, but please allow for user-defined redirections.

cheers,
-wayne

I'm constantly passing URLs and data between my laptop and my iPhone app via my apps' built-in web server. But it could be even cooler if I could just use curl, applescript, Dashboard widget to pop a URL over to my device with Prowl. So how's about an option to automatically open messages which look like http/https URLs when they arrive?

(third-party web browsers like iCab Mobile probably have their own schemes, so they can be handled like other redirections).

GV Mobile 2.0 has been sent to Cydia and is just waiting for approval. I'm hoping we can get the GV Mobile URL Handlers added in anticipation :)

I'd like to request support for Indigo Touch.

It has the following interesting URLs:

Starts the indigo application:
indigo://

Shows the Device tab (note the following should have indigo://, but I hit the URL limit so I can't post the full URL)
controlpage/_internal_devices_?action=showPage

Shows the Device tab with the Nav Bar hidden:
controlpage/_internal_devices_?action=showPage&hideNavBar=1

Shows the Control Page tab:
controlpage/_internal_control_pages_?action=showPage

Shows the Control Page tab with the Nav Bar hidden:
controlpage/_internal_control_pages_?action=showPage&hideNavBar=1

My understanding is that this would require five entries in the redirection list. I can understand if you want to keep the list uncluttered, in case I would add only the first one.

Indigo Touch is available as a free download, if you want to test against the real app.

Could the Twittelator Pro invocation be updated so it is launched correctly.

Specifications can be found here: http://www.stone.com/Twittelator/Twittelator_API.html

Currently Prowl is launching Twittelator mentions with 'twit://mentions', but should be 'twit:///mentions'.

Thanks!

With google voice releasing the new webapp that uses HTML5 (http://googlevoiceblog.blogspot.com/). It would be great to have 2 different redirects for Google voice instead of the current 1: 1)Voicemail, 2) SMS. The current redirect takes you to the dialer screen which requires another click or two.

Hi,

can you please add a function for "open a containing url in safari"?

And if possible remove the badge when using the launch-function.

Thanks!
