Check out this Web Service that I've been working on: AutoNote

I hope it will eventually be a one stop shop for your notification needs!
Its pretty limited right now, but it pushes via Prowl:

    twitterfeeds
twitter trends (with great descriptions from from Brizzly)
    shipping notifications (UPS and USPS)

A few things on my to-do list:

    generic rss feed notification
    twitter lists
    commercial airline flight info notification
    sport score notification

There's not much to see until you sign up (user interface is not my strong point)... but registration is easy.
Just put in your email and a username and you'll get a confirmation number.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvements or additional features, let me know here or on the AutoNote forums.

Check it out: AutoNote

Update -

I've made some stability improvements as well as added a few features, including much better support for Twitter. It's now using the Twitter Search API, so (most) anything you can search for (hash tags, location, to and from, mentions, etc) you can set up a prowl notification for.

I hope to add a new type of notification next...maybe airline flight status....any suggestions?

As usual, if anyone has suggestions for improvements or new features, let me know here or on the AutoNote forums.

Signed up for your service for the twitter search notifications.

I have a request, could the different services have different application to make it possible to forward them to different apps?

Great idea! I've changed it so each type of notification has it's own application name:

AutoNote - Shipping
AutoNote - Twitter
AutoNote - Trends
(more to come)

Keep the suggestions coming!

I got tired of not having fine control over the notifications on the iPhone (I'm also a client), so I added in Prowl priority controls.

I've also tweaked the notifications a bit so each type (UPS and USPS Shipping, Twitter, and Twitter Trends) have unique Application names, so users can control redirects easily. Thanks kjconrad!

Hopefully, I've got the user interface and the prowl side of things done, so now I can concentrate on getting more services built in. Anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe an RSS feed service?

I've added in generic rss feeds to the notification types. Since Prowl doesn't render html code, the notification only includes the title of each feed item, but the notification includes a shortened (by bit.ly) link to the original article.

Since most content heavy rss feeds are written with html, this notification is a bit limited. I'll continue to think about how to include the text in rss items, but it would be great if Prowl handled the html rendering (if that is possible in the push api).
