[ANN] New C Client for Prowl

Postby rphillips » Sat Jul 31, 2010 10:55 pm

Hi All!

I'm new here. I would like to inform everyone that I have started a command-line utility called cprowl [1] to interface to the Prowl service. I needed support for http proxies, so I used the widely known libCurl to implement the HTTP transport. The code is located on github under an Apache license, so fork away and submit patches if you like.

Features:

* Built upon the excellent libCurl library
* waf build system
* multiple API key support

Download link to the first release: http://github.com/downloads/rphillips/c ... .0.tar.bz2

Update[08/02/2010]: I wanted to update everyone and mention that I've created a Windows build. http://github.com/downloads/rphillips/c ... -0.5.1.zip

Regards,
Ryan

Stupid Question

Postby chucky23 » Thu May 12, 2011 3:44 pm

Hi.

I'd like to use CProwl from the command line, however, I don't know how to build binaries.

I do understand how to use the command line, and how to integrate it into my AppleScript workflow. For example, I do understand how to use GrowlNotify from the command line.

To be specific, I can easily figure out how to include a do shell script "/usr/local/bin/growlnotify blahblahblah" line in my AppleScripts and have Growl pop up.

But I can't figure out how to get CProwl into a form where I can get at it from the command line. (I'm assuming this is because I don't know how to build binaries.)

Any help for an idiot like me? (Hopefully some way to download a CProwl binary that I can just tuck away in /usr/local/bin/ and get to work...)
