bug: GrowlMail displays %account ?

Postby JoeWall » Fri Dec 15, 2006 8:47 pm

hello

Growlmail displays %account in the notification instead of the name of account.
I have a feeling this happens because i use httpmail for my hotmail account. (Mail.appetizer was not compatible with httpmail)

I have tried changing settings and googling it but well have no clue when it displays it like that.

thanks

I'm having the same issue. Latest ver. of Growl, and Httpmail. Httpmail is my only mail.app account.

Can someone help? :) Maybe a way to edit the package contents of growl mail to remove the (%account) ?

I've searched everywhere else and can't find anyone that knows how.

thank you
Andrew

This sounds very similar to what I reported a while back:

http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?t=11367

I have all POP accounts, though. It's not very helpful to have "On My Mac" as the account in the notifications ^_^ I don't get any that actually have "%account" in the notification, but it is in the configuration (Mail prefs - GrowlMail) - I think it's a variable of some sort, so you can customize what info the notification shows.

Should have mentioned - I have Growl 0.7.6 (tho it says it's 0.7.5). I saw it in 0.7.5 first. I think it was released at the end of December, and I didn't notice this thread then, but I just realized that the original post was the middle of December.

Odd. And it looks like Tiger, same as me, from the unified toolbar in your snapshot.

I finally got tired of the "On My Mac" headings, and dug up the old Growl 0.7.4. With the GrowlMail from that, but keeping Growl 0.7.6 installed, Mail now displays the actual accounts for each notice. Also, the prefs for it are the same as your snapshot.

Hopefully one of the developers will figure it out and fix it next release. For now, downgrading just GrowlMail did it for me.

Yeah, I'm on Tiger too. (latest ver)

We should try to keep this in one post - I'm posting at http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic. ... 5973#85973 as well. Sorry Mods... can you lock one?

Thanks for the help dude. Are you saying by downgrading growlMail, you removed the "on account X" from the messages?
