What do I have to do to get ready for Snow Leopard?

Postby joelw135 » Tue Aug 25, 2009 10:59 am

Now with Snow Leopard being delivered on Friday the 28th of August, what do I need to do to be ready so Growl will work?

It seems to work. It's just not a 64-bit systems preferences pane.

That's part of what we're working on. More significantly, several other things in the Growl distribution do not work on Snow Leopard.

Everything should be compatible with Snow Leopard in 1.2, which we're working to have out on Friday (but no guarantees).

Just registered to say - you guys rock...

Thanks for updating this so quickly. I miss Growl Mail on SL.

Wish I could help, but don't know jack about Cocoa.

Thanks again - good luck for Friday...

I also just registered to say that you guys rock and I say good luck in getting your app completely ready for Snow Leopard. It'll be huge if you can recompile for 64-bit so the sys pref pane doesn't relaunch each time.

If you don't get it out by Friday, I am sure that no one here will fault you for it. The fact that you're as ready as you are is impressive. Good luck again and we'll look forward to v1.2 in the near future.

I'd like to see a stable release of Growl.framework now, regardless of ongoing work on prefpane or other auxiliary stuff, so that other developers can go on working on making our apps Snow Leopard ready.

How is Growl 1.2 coming along? You've got us all on pins and needles.

Keep up the great work -- I would be lost without Growl.

Peter is working on some unknown bugs relating to GrowlSafari. Which as far as i know is the only thing holding up 1.2b1 of Growl from being posted.

Damn, I don't even use Growl Safari. Anyway, may the coding gods be with him.

Here is a workaround for GrowlMail:

http://blog.jameshiggs.com/2009/08/28/growlmail-on-snow-leopard-a-temporary-fix/

It does not give you any information about the massage itself, but it will tell you when new mail has arrived. (That is good enough for me until an official patch is released).

Hi Y'all,

Any progress on 1.2? :) Also, are there instructions on installing the beta? Thank you in advance.
