Entry In "Recent Items" Menu

Postby Homer11853 » Sun Aug 30, 2009 2:58 pm

With the new beta version of Growl under Snow Leopard, I get an entry in the Apple Menu under "Recent Items - Documents" each time I start Firefox. Looks something like this: Firefox-671-062BFD3C-FFC7-4DE2-8967-A101C4CD57CD.growlRegDict

The numbers keep changing each time I start Firefox, but the ".growlRegDict" is constant at the end of the string.

I can stop this from happening by turning Growl off. Comes right back as soon as I turn Growl back on.

Any ideas?

Does this happen with any other applications, or just Firefox?

Since installing SL yesterday I've tried almost every application I have. This only happens with Firefox. I'm using the 3.5 beta version so I went back, uninstalled and installed the previous Firefox 3 version. Same result.

I forgot, the same thing happened with Growl 1.1.6 so I was eager to try the 1.2 beta. Same issue.

I guess you just keep remembering this stuff as you get deeper into it. The other funny thing is that with Growl turned on, when Firefox starts it's not the active window (all the menus are dimmed etc). You have to "click" somewhere on the open browser to make it active. With Growl turned off when Firefox starts it becomes the active application.

Known problem. We're not sure what causes it, although my bet would be something in Firefox.

Then it's almost certainly a Firefox problem.
