not syncing modified files of same size?!

According to the Synchronize Folders doc, "Cyberduck will only attempt to synchronize files that are of different size." Why is that? If I modify a file, I need it to synchronized, whether or not the file size has changed. Is there a preference to override this error-prone default? I'm happy to file a bug report but first I wanted to ask why it works the way it does.
