Does this still happen when DivX is removed? (might be related to the Roxio crash)

No problem with Perian 1.0

No problem with Perian 1.0 and EyeTV 2.4.1 on Intel Mac. No other "divx" plugins installed, just Flip4Mac.

I can't just go and uninstall Divx because it's bundled with the webplayer required to watch stage6 videos. Other than that, I'm still unable to start eyetv with perian 1.0 installed.

Disabling the DivX decoder solves the problem. The DivX encoder seems to be unrelated with the problem: EyeTV starts with it enabled.

Okay, so EyeTV (and apparently Toast and Crunch as well) crash when both Perian and DivX are installed, but not when only one or the either is installed? Unfortunately, the crash log seems rather random (it's crashing in AddressBook.framework and Perian isn't in the binary images), and we haven't been able to reproduce this yet.

4 things:
- Does it crash when Perian and DivX are the only two QuickTime components installed? (there are a couple others in the crashlog)
- Did this happen with 0.5?
- Does AddressBook crash in the same manner as EyeTV with both Perian and DivX installed?
- More crashlogs from people that can reproduce this would be appreciated.

The web plugin is separate from the decoder; if you removed DivX Decoder.component the web player should use Perian to decode.

Some applications crash with both Perian and DivX installed

After six hours of searching high and low for a solution to Eyetv suddenly mysteriously crashing, I found that Perian 1.0 was the culprit. By removing it Eyetv worked fine again.
To me there was no clue since Perian didn't show up in Eyetv crashlog, but other strange items as Adressbook. Eventually I remembered that I had just updated Perian frpm 0.5 to 1.0. Will remove Divx decode to see if I can use Perian 1.0. If not I'll have go back to 0.5 again.

Could you also try the build on the ticket I linked to see if EyeTV crashes with it and DivX? It isn't a fix nor should it be used in place of 1.0, but might help locating the problem.

EyeTV refuses to launch with Perian 1.0 installed

Removing 'Divx decode' did help. I reinstalled Perian 1.0 and now everything seems to work just fine.
Quick check with Roxio Crunch and Toast, but no problem there either
