Working GrowlMail on Leopard -> Download

Postby excomax » Sun Dec 30, 2007 12:07 pm

I don't know, who compiled that version of GrowlMail. A friend of mine just gave me that link he found somewhere on the internet. But I think it's worth sharing it. It's a working version of GrowlMail for Leopard. I tested it on my MacBook CD running 10.5.1 and it's just like the Tiger-times. ;)

EDIT
As The_Tick writes - this version wont be supported! Please remember it's not an offical version. Use at own risk. Don't bother the devs!

Installed fine, but I cannot see it and it's not working for me.

I had Growl 1.1.2 installed on my Leopard 10.5.1 before and then I added that GrowlMail...

Any idea?

I'm running Growl 1.1.2, too. Have you started Growl and enabled GrowlMail in Mail itself?

Growl is running.

But I cannot see GrowlMail in Mail preferences...

Have you tried quitting Mail first, then installing GrowlMail again?

Growl 1.1.2 is running... but I cannot see it in Mail preferences.

And I cannot see Mail in the applications Growl can control, in System Preferences.

I think nobody expected that and it should be clear that this isn't an official version. It's completely understandable that the Growl-devs wont support it.

Right... In such cases better more than less words.

I edited the opening post to make it clear even if users just read that first post. ;)

finally got it working

Postby bubba » Thu Jan 03, 2008 2:08 am

I had the same problems - MacBook Pro, OS X 10.5.1 and couldn't get it working at all... I dug around a bit and noticed that even though EnableBundles was set to true in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist it was set to false in my ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (in my user directory). So I set EnableBundles to true (and reinstalled GrowlMail out of paranoia) and it's all working now.

Don't know if this will work for you, but it's worth a shot.

That's even less supported since its being rewritten right now to account for changes in Leopard, etc.
Try my software!
