SRT subtitle stops working after upgrade to QuickTime 7.4

Postby windoze » Fri Jan 18, 2008 1:23 am

I've updated to QT 7.4 yesterday, after that, Perian stops showing SRT subtitles.

It seems there is a new menu in QuickTime player about subtitle, but it's always disabled.

Subtitles working! Yeaah!

Postby iBagwan » Wed Jan 30, 2008 9:24 pm

I'm on Perian 1.0.0.2 and the subtitles are back and working great in Quicktime. They still don't work in FrontRow but at least I can save embedded subtitles. I got the latest version from a hint on another discussion group. You need "FrontRow Trailers" (do a search for it, it's an application that allows you to pick the source for trailers). Install it and then open the system preference for it.
Click on the Quicktime Components tab and see if the 1.0.0.2 version shows up. If not, hold down the option key and click on "refresh" and the new one should show up. Once I hit install I opened a movie with an srt file and it opened right up with the subtitles! I saved it and it was embedded like butter!

Hope that helps, I was so jazzed to get my subtitles back!
