Many people ask for requests (like this one) or have bugs to report. I, personally, want documentation on how to make scripts for Cyberduck (like colloquy does). All of this can be handled with Trac.
Many Adium devs think that trac provides a better environment for dealing with these things, since many people post many topics in forums, which get pushed down or forgotten.
Can/will there be a trac?

Yes, there will be Trac. I just can't say when. Currently the showstoppers are:
# Move the CVS respository to SVN first. I have already done this once before using cvs2svn; it shouldn't be an issue.
# Update my server; it doesn't currently have the requirements for Trac.
