[plugin] Window Effects

Postby ofri » Sun Jan 23, 2005 3:21 pm

Hi all,
Here is a plugin i wrote. It adds some cool new effects to the message window: a pulse when new message arrives and a scale effect when the window is closed.
Note that it is based on an unsupported functions! it may also break (not likely but may) with each new version of adium or with new versions of the OS but it works fine for me with 7.5b and 0.8svn on 10.3.7.
If you find bugs and/or have any suggestions/comments please post them here or email me at ofri.wolfus@gmail.com.
Enjoy and sorry about my bad english,
Ofri

fun stuff 8)

[perhaps add fading while shrinking on close for the full OS X effect]

(and a way to disable/enable each effect [ala a pref pane in advanced] would be handy too)

Just my first thoughts, great job.

Do you have any intention of releasing the source? :)

Is there a particular reason you have to restart the app for it to take effect? [example, switch on/off rotate - requires restart to apply]

You don't have to, you have to close the window and reopen it. Not quit it.

I believe it's based off of this http://www.atzenbeck.de/research/wildWindows/ but I could easily be wrong.

This is totally fun. :)

I'd like an option to have the window animate on new message only if it's in the background. Otherwise it gets a bit distracting.

Thanks for adding some "superfluous visual effects" to Adium. :D

You mean you can't download a .sitx, or can't open one? I can't think of any reason why you couldn't be able to actually download a .sitx. As for opening one, do you have Stuffit 9? The expander is free.
