I was in a bit of a hurry before and didn't check all the settings. Turns out the setting for "active transfers" was under FTP in preferences, and not Transfers, where I originally looked.

I haven't tested this yet but I assume this will fix the problem. I'll post again if it doesn't.

Cyberduck typically works great except with on particular server it is *dreadfully* slow (like 5 hours for 100 mb slow). I asked someone that knows more about ftp than I do, and he said it is likely something to do with passive transfers, and that I should "disable passive transfers". I lo...
