Re: Contact List becomes "unhidden" with graphics card switching
Adium is almost certainly interpreting the graphics mode switch as a screen resolution change, which causes it to resize things. Not a huge deal until the switching became automatic... now, though, annoying.

Re: Persistent IRC?
I believe you can use an irc proxy to remain in the channel while Adium thinks you aren't; however, this wouldn't get the 'reopen on message' behavior you want. I don't think that part is possible.

Re: 1.4b10 crash log (KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE)
A very similar crash to this has been reported on IRC with previous betas, but so far we haven't tracked down how to make it happen.

Re: Clang LLVM 1.0 vs GCC 4.2
Compilers are unfortunately not all that relevant in terms of optimization for Adium; Optimizing across objc_msgSend is next to impossible, and most Adium performance issues are algorithmic.
Clang's huge benefit is that it compiles twice as fast and has better error messages

Re: Snow Leopard Compatibility
As far as I know it hits all fonts, but only in Adium. Basically the sizing gets way off in the webkit message view in Adium... for a while. Then it goes away and never comes back, which makes it hard to debug.

Re: Snow Leopard Compatibility
Adium 1.4 (currently in beta) contains a good number of Snow Leopard fixes. Currently the only issues I'm aware of are a difficult to reproduce font issue, and the dictionary popup (ctrl-cmd-d) causing crashes. 1.3.6 will still run fine (and contains many of the same fixes), but may have a few issue...

Re: Some javascript questions for message styles.
For 2 you can use the replacement keywords to get the value into your html, then pull it out using js. Other than that the answer is no to all of them, sorry.

Re: IRC and Mention
The second issue is a matter of message style. Currently only yMous (that I'm aware of) supports highlights, but others are in development.

"me too" is not helpful. We know the bug exists, and it's already fixed in the nightlies.

Re: Does Adium support Parental Controls?
Apple (unfortunately) provides no way of interacting with the system parental controls prefs that I'm aware of. We'd have to roll our own system.

It's people using a particular Yahoo client (the most recent windows one iirc). It will be fixed in b8.

Re: Strange frozen from 1.4b1 to b6
I'm pretty sure it's due to an unrelated change in Adium actually. Considering what to do to fix it.

Re: Strange frozen from 1.4b1 to b6
This is due to us using a username with certain non-ascii characters as an internal key in certain parts of adium. I've fixed one instance of it, but others likely exist.

Re: Notification when a user signs in?
At the moment the only plans I have for the dock code relate to how it works internally. I can't speak for anyone else though. Also, just to clarify, Growl doesn't actually integrate with the "OS shell" (not sure what that would even be on OSX); it just runs a regular background applicatio...

Re: [Request] Safari-esque Tabs
Could be neat, but they're still pretty controversial among many people (since it combines a drag area with a click area, making it easy to accidentally do the wrong action). They're also pretty tricky to implement, so I'd definitely prefer to wait and see on this one.

Re: Notification when a user signs in?
Growl is included with Adium; you could think of it as a component of Adium that happens to need to run separately (so that users don't have to reconfigure certain aspects of notifications for each app that supports them). We could certainly duplicate Growl's functionality within Adium, but that wou...

That is really weird. Do you send a lot of images around or something? My log folder has like 20000 logs in it and is only a few hundred megs.
