Yes, I could update to Maverick. But I would lose a whole bunch of applications that won't work on Maverick and that I can't afford to upgrade right now. So I'm living with the situation, for now.

Gotcha. Most of the people I message with on a regular basis are NOT on Yahoo Messenger. So while it's a bit inconvenient not having being able to connect right now, I can live with it. I ended up downloading the official Yahoo client for the first time ever since this problem started.

Since last night, Yahoo has been connecting with more reliability for me on Adium. I had some problem with it last night, I don't think I had any problem connecting today. Not sure what was wrong before, though.

The problem seems to be intermittent, as was suggested upthread. I was unable to connect this morning, was able to connect for a short time this afternoon, and since this evening I have been unable to connect.

I have reverted back to Adium 1.4.4.

I hope this issue will be fixed so that MSN users can receive ONE new email notifications for MSN accounts that we are signed into.

At the moment, the options appear to be double notifications at sign-on with 1.4.4 or no notifications at all with 1.5b8.
