Re: Growl memory leakage...
What display are you using? It sounds like a WebKit based one that had memory usage issues that have been addressed for 1.1.3.

Re: Notification no work
Coda should work out of the box. The other question would be - have you installed Logitech Control Center? (a sadly repetitive question that will finally be silenced in 1.1.3 [no ETA, don't ask]) Neither PRAM zapping nor cleaning via Onyx should have an effect as they don't touch anything Growl woul...

Re: Notifications?
Applications need to support Growl. Apple does not include support for Growl in their applications, thus external programs must do the work (and in this case, we provide them and point you to them.)

Re: Notifications?
What version?
What applications are you expecting to show Growl notifications that aren't?
Did you install Logitech Control Center's most recent update?
Information is our friend and yours

Re: GrowlTunes and HardwareGrowler Problem
My curiosity was piqued so I decided to look through and find what I was missing. For the sake of those who may find this thread, the defaults I found in GrowlTunes are: - for no menu, set the following key to true (remove if you no longer desire the effect) key: GrowlTunesWithoutMenu - for recent t...

Re: GrowlTunes and HardwareGrowler Problem
There's no way to hide the menubar icon, it's what allows control of the application and is standard for 'faceless' applications. The only option would be to download the source and modify it to no longer display.
Edit: this is inaccurate, see below

Edit their plist files to contain LSUIElement set to 1. For details on this, search the forums, it's a occasionally asked and already answered question.

Re: Logitech
We've resolved this for the next release of Growl so that despite Logitech's bad behavior Growl will continue to work appropriately.

Would this not manifest as no Growl notifications, not sporadic ones?excomax wrote: Do you have installed the Logitech Control Center?

Re: Cannot uninstall Growl
We seem to be misreading each other somewhere - I have not, at any time, made disparaging remarks about you or anyone else, except myself, unless you are taking personally my frustrations with the program Growl. I do take Growl personally (I'm the lead developer currently) and the remarks about it ...

Re: Cannot uninstall Growl
Growl is literally contained in the preference pane. If that's in the Trash, the only thing left is custom styles and preferences.

Re: Where are the scripts!!!!!!
I've removed the link because it pointed to a third party site that is unknown (thus untrusted) and because it's a rar file, which is not Mac OS X standard is certainly not how it was originally distributed. As I noted in the edit comment, we are the canonical resource for Growl and older versions a...

Re: Where are the scripts!!!!!!
1. "website sucks" is purely opinion. And you are entitled to that, but it really is rather moot and useless to assert such drivel without sound reasoning.
2. We intentionally stopped shipping the scripts because no one maintained them.
So, wtf indeed.

Re: Cannot uninstall Growl
But now that I've found there is no easy way to get it off the computer, my attitude toward Growl has hardened considerably. I don't care how good a program is, I do not want to be Nortoned (for you who've never used a PC, Norton used to produce some of the best security software, but in recent yea...

Re: Cannot uninstall Growl
There is no "Remove" to click in Growl's systems preference window; I did uncheck and disable everything I could find, but that certainly doesn't remove it from the computer. Which brings me back to my original question: How do you remove it? Or am I failing to understand some kind of Mac...
