Hi, I've been browsing through the source and I can't tell if there is a way to fire an event when the contact list focus changes (eg. you select someone in the contacts list).

ok, phew... that was the conflict... this program I was running had a weird input manager process which was interfering with Growl. Sorry for my error... thank goodness my growl is back in action.

Hrm... I just installed the beta, but that didn't fix my problem. hrm - my notifications are turned on, rather: not hidden, in the menu bar. I'm guessing that's what silent mode is referring to? I don't see silent mode as an option in the v. 0.7.6 General Options Pane.
