Also, copy link to clipboard is an option when i control-click / right-click a link. Not for you? It is not available when viewing a link in an away message or profile (aka Contact Info Window). I see it in 0.8b I just looked in the beta and the tool tip and copy link are both there. Im glad to see...

I am having the same problem. Link from main page doesn't work. Link from email notifications does.

If you put your mouse over the link for a second it displays a pop up caption (not sure what the technical name for the box is) that displays the URL

To answer your second question, some users have their client set to never go idle. I think some users think this is a privacy and security issue.

With Adium open, go to the "View" menu at the top of the screen, then go to "Contact Name Format", then select "Alias"

That shoud do it for you.

Previewing hyperlink paths in away messages

I have been using Adium for 10 months now. I absolutely love the program. The biggest thing I miss coming from AIM on a windows box is the ability to view where a hyperlink is going to take me before I click on it. If I am at work, I definitely want to know that the URL looks work appropiate before ...
