No, I don't think there is. But what you can do in the mean time is turn on status icons and you'll see that mobile users will show a little wireless (it looks sort of like the Airport logo) icon instead of the regular bubbles/balloons/whatever.

I know about this problem; I'm wrote ProtoScroll, which is (to my knowledge) where everyone else got their smooth scrolling functionality from. And me, well, I got the idea from Proteus :) And lo and behold, Proteus is having this same problem... By the way, the actual scrolling is done with JavaScr...
