No disrespect intended, but that's exactly what's happening.
GrowlHelperApp does not appear in Activity Monitor.
Growl displays a notification whenever I get an email.
Is there another name under which GrowlHelperApp might operate? An old name or something?

how do i get rid of 0.7.6?
I'm on a MacBook Pro running 10.4.10. I have had 0.7.6 for a couple years. Today, it hung when I rolled my curser over the notification - I couldn't get rid of the notification without rebooting. So I downloaded 1.1.2 and installed. but 0.7.6 is still there -- i get double notifications. and I can't...
