I figured out what my issue was. The Skype plugin: http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=x ... ra_id=5011 is apparently not yet Lion-friendly.

Removed it and all is well again!

Same deal for me. Ever since I installed Lion Adium is totally unresponsive. Most of the time it simply proceeds to lock up completely forcing a force quit. Sometimes it appears to start correctly but after typing about 6 words it freezes. I've tried a reinstall, clean install, you name it. it worke...
