The avi's though play fine in front row with subtitles,is it a problem related only with the mkv format?

mkv with subtitles problem perian 1.1.3
Hello, i've installed 1.1.3 and i found out that if an mkv with subtitles is loaded in front row the playback is very choppy In quicktime and itunes the video plays just fine.I've also found out that if you don't load the subtitles in front row,then the mkv plays fine,could you help me?
