Re: Jabber bots supporting Prowl

Yep, that'd be a pretty easy modification to the code.

Re: Audio bug?

Could be, it's hard to tell. It hasn't happened to me since. If it happens again, I'll try your suggestion.

Audio bug?

I think there's a bug. If I'm listening to a podcast, and then open up Prowl, and while Prowl is open a notification comes in, it will stop my podcast. I think it only happens if the notification starts to come in *while* I'm opening the app. If the app is already open, and I cause a notification to...

Notifications *really* slow today?

Prowl notifications typically take about 3 seconds to land on my phone. Today though, they're taking much longer, sometimes over a minute. Anyone else seeing this, or is it just me? I just did a test from the Prowl website, using 'add a notification", and it took over a minute.

Jabber bots supporting Prowl

Just wanted to give a heads up that I've got two Python Jabber bots implemented that push out Prowl notifications. They're fairly specific in what they do, but should provide a good code base to anyone wanting a go at Jabber bots. http://github.com/parlarjb/prowl-jabberbots/tree/master Hope this hel...

Re: Prowl RSS Reader (And multiple API keys help!)

you cant just add multiple apikeys and have it work. you could, however, loop through the apikeys and send a notification to Prowl for each. you will have to keep in mind api usage limits though (not sure if it is limited by ip address or by apikey). From the FAQ: The Prowl servers have a rate limi...

Re: what are people doing with custom notifications?

Would you mind posting your 2 jabber scripts.... I would like a chance to look at them and use them Or if you wouldnt mind emailing them to me I've modified the version of prowlpy that Zachary lists on the API page. Mine can be found here: http://github.com/parlarjb/prowlpy/tree/master Basically, I...

Re: what are people doing with custom notifications?

I've got three separate programs going using Prowl. The first (emailnotify.py) logs into GTalk as a Jabber client, and pushes Gmail notifications to me. I noticed someone else on the forum has done this with IMAP instead of Jabber, which would probably be a better idea. Gmail does push notifications...

Re: Prowl RSS Reader (And multiple API keys help!)

I have an RSS client done and working quite nicely. All I did was take the program rss2email, and modified it so it sent me Prowl notifications instead of email (using a modified prowlpy from github) . I'll try to get it up on github soon, but it's really easy to make the changes yourself.
