Well, "quit" isn't quite the right word since the thing crashed, but yeah, I think I know what you're getting at. The last time it crashed, I removed the plug-in immediately afterwards, before starting Safari again.

Nope. The only instance of GrowlSafari is now in my trash, and the .pkg in /Library/Receipts/.

Good question... IIRC, I removed the SafariGrowl folder (or was it a bundle?) from the Library/InputManagers folder where it had been installed. I can't remember exactly which subfolder it was in. I didn't remove the reference from the Growl preferences, but this doesn't seem to matter.
