I double jakespeters post. Got same version, same problems. I can add that I had them at 10.5 to - so its nothing connected to 10.6. I have updated growl to (even though I didnt find their beta). Been in love with Adium for a decade or so but... Looking for a solution - or Ill move to something new ...
