UPDATE: ok...stubbronly i refused to give up....i went to AIM.com and used the JAVA <eck> version of their IM..after about 20 mins of repetive clicking and typing..deleted all my contacts. After over an hour...adium finally acknowledged i had no contacts left. This solved the problem obviouslly..but...
