Indeed; it's this summer program run by Google, where they basically give coders summer jobs by paying them to work with developers of various projects (such as Gaim and Adium in the past). http://code.google.com/soc/ The great part is that some of the coders stay with the project and continue to co...

FYI, there's already discussion of this in this thread. You provided some additional information, so the threads could be merged perhaps.

It should be noted that the Adium developers aren't averse to incorporating other protocol code besides libgaim into Adium, as evidenced by the inclusion of joscar in Adium 1.0; joscar will replace libgaim as the protocol used for the AIM network (libgaim will still power everything else, besides Bo...

PHP might be used for add-on message views or whatnot (I don't really know), but Adium is written in Objective C using Apple's Cocoa API, and some Carbon. The About Adium Trac/wiki page has a list of IM protocols and languages that Adium has been translated to. It also has the system requirements of...

The wiki found on Adium's Trac page has some of the info you're looking for, such as a list of contributors. Also, Adium is licensed under the GPL, not the LGPL as you have in your list.

To the people who say that Derf is being annoying and should listen to the developers, I disagree. I think his behavior has been fine. Can we at least wait until the developers do start getting a bunch of crap from people who've downloaded Derf's builds, before we jump down his throat saying it will...

If you think mail.yahoo.com is a better URL to use than the current one, open a ticket about it. But if the developers disagree and it stays at the login.yahoo.com URL, then I'd check out the source code and build yourself a modified copy (if it's important enough to you) with the instructions in th...
