Actually, you can thank the stupid people who don't READ.

*sigh*. I will not be put to blame if users decide not to look at a warning - the downloads stay, and everyone has a CHOICE whether or not they'll use it. Don't use it - no problem!

That is the answer. Because "I have complied with your demands of "add a warning that it's a nightly" and such, source will be available on request, and so will a change-log.

As such... it's perfectly fine.", I'm in the free to go ahead and chug along - which I will.

Why not?

I have complied with your demands of "add a warning that it's a nightly" and such, source will be available on request, and so will a change-log.

As such... it's perfectly fine.

Is Adium violating the GPL by not publicly giving out the source to their beta builds, but instead to the SVN? If so, they are as much in the wrong as me. SVN is the source. Not to the released, public betas. I.E. The "final" build of b1, b2, b3, b4, b5, b6.... Accusing us of not providing source a...

Alright. I'll gladly post any modified source files, which, to this particular build, is simply the about window, as this is a fresh, new project.

Derf, you're being very annoying and aren't listening to the devs. They don't want this as it doesn't benefit Adium in any way. I understand this, and not much can be done to stop me. :X Oh, and as this is the first officially-unofficial build, nothing's changed except for the about box just yet. T...

ALRIGHT, how about this - I'll make it nice and bold on top of the Download button, I'll make it apparent in a seperate file included in the dmg which will be named "READ ME OR YOU'LL MESS UP AND BUG ADIUMX.txt" That good? That great? I hope so. No, you also need to make it a .app and not a .pkg. T...

*snip* These 2 points don't seem logical to you? We do not want to have releases floating around that are - half done - crashing - deleting home directories making hard drives no longer work - deleting Adium user data And nightlies can do this stuff. Yes! Exactly. Which is why there's a logical war...

OK, I'm back, and the homepage has been changed. You will now find a warning in friendly red letters. :-) Is there any reason you won't respect our wishes and pull the download? AdiumX's liscence permits this. If you would like to change it, then I would gladly pull the download. Until then, there ...

Also, his use of ads on the site implies he is trying to make money off software he didn't program? I understand the open source philosophy, but I feel the dev's should be a little protective in this instance. The ads are required by my server, unfortunately. I do not get any money from them at all.

I really think you should have a huge warning near the download button stating that (a) it is a nightly build and is not thoroughly tested, so it could be unstable and/or damaging, and (b) the official Adium developers will not help those who have problems with the nightly builds. We don't want a b...

Correction: I am posting following public releases. 1.0 is released in beta form, and I'm following that release for t he time being - once 1.0 is released in full form, I'll be releasing my own based on that code, too. I also, to admit, plan on releasing nightlies like this long side the 1.0...

Isn't AdiumX open source, and it's license allows and states that anyone is free to 'fork' their own projects based on it, as long as the proper credit is given to the original developers, which it kindly is, you'll find, all over the application.
