OK. Problem solved, network notifications also up and running after a thorough system re-install.

Located the Growl preferences file and deleted it, now the applications tab reflect the tickets in the Tickets folder. Notifications seem to be working.

My locate db was out of date, that's why I couldn't find the prefs file at first.

The Growl-compatible apps seem to add tickets to the Tickets folder in Application Support/Growl, but they don't show up in the pref pane.

Good point. On closer inspection, none of the four other apps in the Growl prefs pane seem to be working with Growl, and they don't re-register when I remove from the list and run the apps. Thanks for your reply. It seems spellchecking is already turned off in Safari. Could this be an Adium bug? The setting seems to stick in most other apps I've disabled it in.

Is there any way to turn this off by default, though? I'm getting really tired of disabling the spellchecker every time I open a new chat window.

Just to clarify: I've got NewsFire notifying Growl whenever the podcasts' RSS feeds have been updated. I've got my iTunes library on my Mac Mini server/media center, and I'd like to be notified when iTunes on the Mini has downloaded a new podcast.

Any way to do this?

Is there any way to have Growl notify me when a podcast I'm subscribing to in iTunes is updated? That's the only notification I'm missing on my home network.
