Folder actions respond to opening, closing, adding or removing files to folders. The feature I'm interested in would instead initiate an action any time a file was accessed, independent of whether I change its location or not.

I'd like to set things up so that any time I open a file with non-empty spotlight comments, growl would post a notice of what those comments were. I see this as a great way of encouraging me to keep my comment data current on files I'm using, and also to provide helpful reminders about the status of...
