I asked somewhere else and found the solution to my problem.

In the AIM settings within Adium preferences, the post was set to 5190. I changed it to 5192 and it works fine now.

and it will work with the old router, but that's against the whole point of using my new system. I'm trying to find a solution with the new system.

You don't understand, it's not me trying to connect, Adium is trying to connect over and over again and then the message will come up. I'm assuming that it's something to do with my new router setup but I don't know what would be the direct cause.
