well, ok, but it's saying that i cannot move the growl thing in there, that the panes cannot be modified. i don't want to screw up every other preference setting on my machine. what shall i do? click authenticate and enter my password? and then it will let me move it to where it says it cannot????

clicking on preview for mailme still produces no incoming email.

i await your instructions, sirs! (i think you are sirs but i'm not sure....)

i don't know if i can rearrange the order of my accounts without screwing everything up. i entered them when we set the computer up a few weeks ago. re the mac account - i MAY use it or not. don't know yet. but maybe this is irrelevant. maybe once in a while .mac sends me some kind of email. i have ...

Ok, my answers. To The_Tick: yes the .mac account is the first in the list To: bgannin: when i had clicked on preview in Growl i got NO permission prompt to use any account. and finally to The_Tick again, here is where the problem lies perhaps. Your first choice, and I think you meant the library fo...

here is where it gets complicated perhaps. i have three mail accounts there. one is my .mac account which i started when i began my free .mac trial. i don't use it and i don't know if i will be signing up for .mac. then i have a pop account which is my incoming mail server, which gets mail from two ...

if you mean the apple mail program, yeah, that's how i send and receive mail. and the address i entered in the growl/superduper prefs was my regular email address, one of three accounts on this apple mail thing.

if hitting preview for mailme generates an email sent to the address i've indicated, much as clicking preview to see what a bubble looks like and having it appear on your screen, then it is decidedly NOT working for me. i will change the email address. maybe the one i gave has bad juju or something....

Bingo! I changed every setting (in both SuperDuper! and Growl) that was MailMe to bubbles and sure enough, after the backup was completed there was a nice bubble "stuck" to the desktop which didn't go away until the computer went to sleep as scheduled, came back on and I clicked the bubble...

Believe it or not I wasn't always an idiot. Ok. So by sticky they mean "bubbles" or whatever the visual display is? And I am doing this with the SuperDuper! prefs within the application prefs of the Growl prefs (I know that sounds confusing but you know what I mean) but shall I also do it ...

Well, yeah, I thought it made sense and I readjusted my settings accordingly and just ran SuperDuper! and received NO email, nor is a stickie on the desktop. For the hell of it I changed the Growl default to MailMe. And the SuperDuper! listing under Applications is set to mail me (display) and is cl...

Thanks. Well, I thought I had the settings set properly but I did't have the "display" setting of SuperDuper! within the Growl Application preferences set to MailMe. It was "default" - whatever that is. Need I change Growl to MailMe from its default setting, too? Also, I thought ...

No MailMe notification or stickies

Greetings, fellow Growlers, I just installed your nice program so I can have notifications sent to me after my SuperDuper! backup runs. I filled out everything correctly in the preferences window, indicated that I wanted to be emailed, gave the correct email address. I think stickies is an automatic...
