All Macs And Drives have 1.1.1
Yes all have 1.1.1 and all have the preference file in/. There are none in~.I think that in future updates I won't have any problems. Thanks again.

Let me explain
I have 3 Powerbooks and an iMac Plus a Bootable Terabyte External Hard Drive That is also bootable.as well as An external 250Gb Hard Drive that is bootable.I have a G5 which is properly configured with 1.1.1 THe others have had the problem that has been described. ON One login item:
Can you explain what the Growl Menu Item does. Is this to show the Growl icon in the menu allowing a user to turn Growl on or off as need be. If that is all I'd rather not go back on all 3 Macs and a Backup Hard Drive just to include that. GOD knows I have more than enough menu items and not enough ...

Only one Problem remains
I used to have 2 Growl start up items Growl Menu and Growl Helper App I now have just one,Growl Helper App

Ok I think I answered my own question
When I deleted the one in my user library then I don't need the one there I can use the one in my /Library the other one is unnecessary. Am I correct?

But now I have 2 Growl Helpers in my log in items. Should I delete one or should I delete the Growl preference Pane in /?

I deleted the one in ~/library/preferencepanes and moved the one in/library/preferencepanes to ~. Should I copy the one in ~ to my/Library/preference panes?

OK!
The Macs that were not able to install 1.1.1 were my 3 Powerbooks and my iMac all PPC and having 10.4.10 . I just checked the iMac and in ~/library/preferencepanes it has 0.75 in /library/preferancepanes it has1.1 not 1.1.1 Strange that it shows in~ 0.75 when the actual version is 0.76.

This is so simple to explain to you
The download link is right there on the Growl web site. It says 1.1.1 If you attempt to download from it a DISK IMAGE comes up on your desktop of 1.1.1 After clicking the instaler and putting in your password the installer does its thing and it says the software was sucessfully installed.BUT nothing...

The one on http Growl. This all happened when you tried to help someone that notified you that 1.1.1 was not available and you said "I'll fix that." Subsequent to that although the installer said 1.1.1 we all got 0.76. It is the update within 0.76 preference pane itself that you click when...
