Re: Audio bug (?) solved by reverting from 1.1.3 to 1.1.2

That's interesting, as I don't remember any related commits. Just to narrow down the problem, can you save the MKV as a MOV (using Save as... -> reference movie) under 1.1.2, install 1.1.3, and then try to export that? That way we can see if the problem is in MKV import or DTS decoding. Either way, ...

Re: no sound issue after iDVD burn

Tried with a DivX/44.1khz avi, since that was the only short file I had on hand, and it worked. I'll do something more traditional and see if that's any different. (might also have something to do with VBR/CBR or the app that created it... avi is really a pain when you have to deal with details like...

Re: 1.1.2 no subtitle any more...

That makes the second SRT I've seen using , as a decimal separator, I'll fix it tonight. you mean you will fix your own srt or Perian to accept decimal separator ? Perian. I don't think the decimal separator makes any difference, I've tried using .ass files instead of .srt and it just doesn't load....

How new is the flv file? If it's fairly new, try renaming it to .mp4. That's just a guess though.

It's fixed now. We might want to say something about restarting apps in the updater dialog, though.

Re: Green video when trying to play interlaced content.

I'm having trouble finding out what interlaced support actually requires - there's ImageCodecCombineAndExtractFields, which might be for encoders, and there's QT Player's "Single Field" checkbox, which I'm not really sure what it does. It should be fine to move interlaced H264 from the &qu...

Re: Asynchronous sound with Xvid AVI (1.1.3)

Post a video and that should be enough. Do you know if it works with any other avi importer (Perian 1.0, DivX Doctor, etc.)?

Re: Feature: Perian updater should quit apps

It's better to just delete the component instead of putting it in the trash; OS X is perfectly fine with deleting open components, and it won't cause a problem. In fact, I already did that for the Uninstall button, why doesn't the update use that code?

Re: QT is now using 60% of CPU to decode a 'simple' H.264 video

Huh, what a weird video format. I didn't mention this on ars since it would probably be annoying, but the useful stuff to debug this would be: 1. Time Profile (All Thread States) of Everything with mplayer running, then with QT running (i think this might explain CPU % differences) 2. Time Profile o...

All your apps will be under enhanced apps. Did excluding QT from audiohijack fix the video?

(you should post avis that don't work too)

Can you post the avi? Sounds like an audio import problem, they usually give error codes that don't actually exist for some reason.

The subtitle hack can't work with .mov files, yeah. This is pretty much a QT limitation, unless the track blend mode can be changed from inside its decompressor.

Re: perian, huffyuv, and final cut pro

At a wild guess I'd say FF_INPUT_PADDING_SIZE is not respected somewhere. It's certainly a memory overread in the decode (in this case going into the next invalid page).

Re: no sound issue after iDVD burn

I guess there's some problem with the audio track header - different parts of OS X are randomly stricter about it for no apparent reason. I don't see a good place to start debugging, though. Does the DVD have a silent audio track or no audio at all? And if you can save the avi as a MOV with VLC or D...
