HWGrowler doesn't have those images - what it does do it get the icon of a volume via NSWorkspace when that volume is mounted.

No, not stupid. There's no reason you should automatically know about GHA. I have to admit I don't use Automator - so I don't know the correct answer to your question - I assumed that the Growl action is automatically added to Automator when you start-up Growl. [edit] Hmm - If you put the Growl Pref...

GrowlHelperApp is the invisible application that actually displays Growl notifications - if you're running Growl - you've already got GHA.

That's not how you get apps to start-up automatically in OS X.

Try adding the HardwareGrowler app to the login items in the 'accounts' preference pane.

hmmm - I can't quite work out what's going wrong here - can you give me an example of one of the events that took place (but was missed by the script) on the 17th Feb - e.g. start-time end-time - was it an all-day event, or an ordinary one? Does it have a different time-zone attached?

Hmm - would you do me a favour and open the script in Script Editor - then select the 'Event Log' tab at the bottom of the script - then run the script - then paste the contents of the event log here. Thanks - Digs.

WordPress + Growl

This looks like fun - sounds like there's going to be a growl plug-in for WordPress:

You pass the notification command an optional parameter 'identifier' [string]

Notifications with the same identifier should coalesce

Hmm - what app did you paste it into?

Perhaps it got mangled in the copy/paste from Safari.

you can check the plist:

Code: Select all

sudo plutil -s /path/to/the/plist

Sounds like you've missed out the CFBundleName value in the plist.

e.g.:

Code: Select all

   <key>CFBundleName</key>
   <string>Example</string>

The current code to stop notifications going off-screen is somewhat... basic.

This is a known problem - and should be solved by the swanky new positioning system - which is planned for 0.8
