It is possible that you have two copies of GrowlHelperApp running -

If you toggle the 'stop/start' button twice in the prefpane - it may help.

There is a small bug in most of the localisations in 0.7 (including English) - the "forward notifications to other hosts" checkbox is not properly bound to the code - so checking that box on the sending machine - may not actually do anything (you can check this by quitting the prefpane and starting ...

Hmm - I'm not sure what you did wrong with the plist. Just tried it here and works. N.B. the three dots in the quote above are meant to represent continuing text - not dots you should add to the plist. (p.s. you also may need to 'touch' the application's bundle for the OS to notice the change in the...

Hi, If you want to make HardwareGrowler run without appearing in the dock you can hack the plist (hardwaregrowler.app/contents/info.plist) change the end from this ..... <key>NSMainNibFile</key> <string>MainMenu</string> <key>NSPrincipalClass</key> <string>NSApplication</string> </dict> </plist> to ...

The RadioShark app doesn't actually support Growl. I have got some scripts that I use to control RS that also put up Growl notifications: e.g. tell application "GrowlHelperApp" set myAllNotesList to {"radio1Note", "radio4Note", "XFMNote"} register as...

Growl 0.6.1 had a known bug where it would crash if you checked for an update.

Please download 0.6.2 manually from http://growl.info

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hmm - odd, i tried the script with Snak V5 - the first time, it failed, much like your quote above.

I then quit Snak, looked inside the script and tried again, and it seemed to work fine.

Try opening the script with script editor, and resaving it.

My apologies - I speed read the first script - didn't notice the change in the second. It looks like in your notify command you are forgetting to use the name of the app that you registered with: notify with name (string) : name of the notification to display title (string) : title o...

IIRC - Carbon apps can use the services menu, but it requires work on the developer's part - unlike in Cocoa, where it comes 'for-free'.

1 - make sure that Growl is the notification system used by QS. (QS prefs -> 'helpers' section). 2 - Cause QS to send a notification - e.g. install a new plug-in, change net location, change iTunes track etc... 3 - QS should appear in the prefpane - since it is now registered. It appears that QS doe...
