My feedback is that I have grown to hate iPhoto, so it's useless to me. (Cause de folders inside the Iphoto library are full of redundant crap)

if the official version doesn't work, chances are Adium won't work either.
Are you in some corporation, in school or other private network?
it's possible that your network operator blocks you.

It might also be connected to your firewall or router, though I don't think this will be the case.

does adium have user pictures? I quickly glanced at the tour of their application (watched the windows one) and it doesn't say anything about it.

There's no such folder.

but a simpeler way would be to do command-g (go command) and type the adress... then you have the nice window interface instead of textual.

Some rumour site said that the major IM protocols would change as to block googles way into them. Maybe that's what's happening?

I have no problems adding contacts with a gmail passport.
Make sure you do everything correct and try to click on the greyed button (you never know?)

if you think there may be a chache file, use the search function to search the content of all files on your computer with some of the text from the previous conversation.
Seems like there's no way it's going to work but if it's that important you might try...

if the website agrees with your password and doesn't kick you off, then the problem can be Adium related.
If you experience the same problems on the website, it must be either you either icq that has problems.

I don't think this has anything to do with Adium.
Check if you use caps, or maybe other weird signs?
and type your password plaintext somewhere and check it and copy paste it into the password box.

If not, maybe the icq site offers a possibility to recover passwords?

make a new MSN account, in the "options" tab you will see the place to enter server-information.
