My status icon for my screename has turned to a gray bubble

Using the status icon 'ibubble' the status bubble for myself on my buddy list randomly changed to a gray bubble with a red X in it. Whether I am avalible, invisble, or away, it is always the same. Whenever I switch to a different status icon, it stays the same.

Why and how can I fix this?
